Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using the Nexus Marketplace platform. Last updated: February 2026.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Nexus Marketplace platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Nexus Marketplace Ltd., a company registered in England and Wales.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-platform notification at least 14 days in advance.

2. The Platform

Nexus Marketplace is an online marketplace that connects customers seeking professional audio-visual equipment with vendors who supply such equipment for hire. We facilitate the matching, booking, and logistics of AV equipment rental across the United Kingdom.

Nexus acts as an intermediary and is not a party to the rental agreements between customers and vendors. We do not own, inspect, or control the equipment listed on the Platform.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Platform, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account details up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms. Business accounts must be registered by an authorised representative of the organisation.

4. Bookings & Payments

Bookings are confirmed once the vendor accepts the request and payment is processed. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP) and are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. Nexus charges a service fee on each transaction, which is displayed before booking confirmation.

Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment provider. Funds are held in escrow and released to the vendor upon successful completion of the rental period. Refund policies are governed by the cancellation terms outlined at the time of booking.

5. Customer Responsibilities

As a customer, you agree to: use rented equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines and any instructions provided by the vendor; return equipment in the same condition it was received (reasonable wear and tear excepted); report any damage, loss, or malfunction promptly; and comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to the use of the equipment.

Customers are liable for any damage to or loss of equipment during the rental period, beyond normal wear and tear. Additional charges may apply for late returns, cleaning, or repairs.

6. Vendor Responsibilities

As a vendor, you agree to: list only equipment that you own or are authorised to hire out; provide accurate descriptions, images, and availability information; ensure all equipment is in safe working condition and complies with relevant safety standards; fulfil confirmed bookings in a timely and professional manner; and maintain appropriate insurance coverage for your equipment.

Vendors are responsible for the accuracy of their listings and for resolving any disputes relating to equipment quality or condition.

7. Insurance & Damage Protection

Nexus offers optional damage protection plans for customers at the time of booking. These plans are underwritten by our insurance partners and are subject to separate terms and conditions. Damage protection does not cover intentional damage, theft by the customer, or use of equipment outside agreed terms.

Vendors are strongly encouraged to maintain their own insurance. Nexus does not provide insurance coverage for vendor equipment and is not liable for uninsured losses.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nexus Marketplace Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by you to Nexus in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including the design, text, graphics, logos, software, and code — is the property of Nexus Marketplace Ltd. or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Platform content without prior written consent.

By uploading content to the Platform (such as equipment images or descriptions), you grant Nexus a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the operation of the Platform.

10. Account Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Nexus reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or harm the Platform or other users. Upon termination, any pending bookings may be cancelled and any outstanding payments will be settled in accordance with our standard procedures.

11. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute between a customer and a vendor, the parties are encouraged to resolve the matter directly. If a resolution cannot be reached, Nexus offers a mediation service to help facilitate a fair outcome. Nexus's decision in any mediation is advisory and non-binding unless both parties agree otherwise.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any legal proceedings shall be brought in the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on the Platform. Material changes will be communicated to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
